How do I analyze content using MarketMuse?

Content is analyzed multiple ways in the platform, including using the Analysis/Planning/Brief workflow documents, content inventory, and the Research and Optimize applications.

What metrics does the content analysis tool evaluate?

MarketMuse captures dozens of data points including Topic Authority, Personalized Difficulty, Content Score, Word Count, Topical Coverage and more.

How can I identify areas for improvement in my existing content?

A Cluster Analysis document reveals what pages are missing from your site and what needs optimization. A Content Quality Analysis document shows the pages that are lacking in quality and any low-quality claims. The Optimize application indicates what topics aren’t being covered on your page. Heatmap shows you how to make your content stand out from the crowd. A Content Brief includes insight from Optimize, Heatmap, and much more.

What factors does MarketMuse consider when making recommendations?

MarketMuse takes numerous factors into account depending on the type of recommendation and whether it’s at the site or page level.

Why didn’t MarketMuse suggest that I optimize a specific page?

When determining optimization opportunities, MarketMuse takes many factors into consideration, including the topics for which a page ranks, their Topic Authority, Personalized Difficulty, similarity, monthly search volume and traffic, Content Score, and intent match.

For example, you may have a page about ‘X’ that’s not ranking well (or not at all). In that case, MarketMuse is unlikely to suggest that as an optimization opportunity.

Can I customize the optimization recommendations based on my preferences?

Recommendations are customized based on the type of insight desired.
